To God be all the glory.

Shut Up

Noise sounds better on mute.
Hide away.
Keep the hype away.
Hide away.
Keep the hype away.
The best address is off the grid.
The Bible says to live a quiet life.
Stay tight-lipped.
Know the time and place to unzip.

Even a fool seems wise when he’s silent.
You’ve gotta put a limit on your tongue.
You’ve gotta put a limit on your tongue.
You’ve gotta put a limit on your tongue.
Even fools seem wise when they’re silent.
Even fools seem wise when they’re silent.
Don’t let your lips get loose.
Noise sounds better on mute.

Silent mouth is a life saver.
Too much talk will do you no favours.
Loose lips lead to ruin.
Loose lips lead to ruin.
Watch your mouth
‘cause the tongue can be a troublemaker.
It will choose sweet words or a sour flavour.
Don’t leave it on top the fence.
The tongue got the power of life and death.
Birds, reptiles, rodents, beasts,
and all sorts of creatures have been tamed…
but the tongue remains unchained.
And a small flame can set a forest ablaze.
A wildfire born from a spark.
The tongue can make your life go dark.
A ship is guided by a little rudder.
The tongue has a similar function.
And the tongue has double-edged urges.
The tongue sings praises but curses.
Will you heal or will you hurt?
Duality won’t work.
Can fresh water flow
from the same spring as salt water?
Can a fig tree bear olives
or a grapevine bear figs?
Pick the right fruit.
Let your words be honeycombs.
Judgement Day is always close.
That’s when you’ll answer for what you spoke.
Every syllable you ever told.
So when wicked words raise your blood pressure,
you must answer hate with love.
Speak no evil.
Never stoop to the level of evil.
And the words of fools
will plant their footprints on the road to doom.
They thank themselves for their own directions
which is why you can’t be in their presence.
Their opinion is pollution to the ear
and they only ever listen if it’s theirs.
So don’t exchange words.
Don’t let pigs waste your pearls.
Too much talk leads to sin.
Stop babbling.
There’s a snowball effect on chattering.
It can get more and more ungodly,
then the chit-chat turns into gangrene.
But a silent mouth won’t spread an infection.
And the mouth speaks from the heart,
so you’ve gotta stay on guard.

Even a fool seems wise when he’s silent.
You’ve gotta keep a limit on your tongue.
You’ve gotta keep a limit on your tongue.
You’ve gotta keep a limit on your tongue.
Even fools seem wise when they’re silent.
Even fools seem wise when they’re silent.
So you’ve gotta mind your own business.
Stay out of the back-and-forth bickering.

When you start quarrelling,
a floodgate opens.
If you keep it shut,
you never have to close it.
Here’s a key to escape an argument:
it’s easy to be stubborn when you’re passionate.
Just say your piece and keep it cool.
You don’t need the final say.
What’s the use?
Is it worth the tension?
Is it worth aggression?
Is it worth resentment?
Is it worth investment?
When a quarrel turns people into cannibals,
tryna separate them wouldn’t be rational.
The first one to state a case seems so true
until it’s time to investigate their proof.
But rushing in somebody else’s quarrel
is like grabbing the ear of a stray dog, dawg.
So don’t be minding business
if it ain’t yours, dawg.
Don’t be minding business
if it ain’t yours, dawg.
Remember this…
When you feel offended,
avoid the fumes.
Prevent explosion,
don’t light the fuse.
A foolish mouth invites a beating.
It’s a runway for blows.
It’s always quick to take flight.
It’s always searching for strife.
It’s always hunting for somebody
with a quicker temper
to play the same old game
with a new contender.
They don’t tap gloves.
Swing for the chin, dawg.
It’s a racket, it’s a rally of insults.
But what happens
when they empty the pistols?
They go back and forth,
firing missiles.
Step away from the tennis.
Chuck deuces and exit.
Argument avoidance.
Quarrel is worthless.

Put restraint on your words.
Don’t repeat all you’ve heard.

Please remember
to keep slander from your language.
Please remember
to keep malice from your grammar.
Please remember
to keep damage from your language.
Don’t make daggers from grammar.
And don’t be snaking
with cobras who hide all their hatred
behind the smile on their face.
Their feelings never match what they’re saying
unless they talk behind your back.
Once upon a crashout,
there was a man who was mentioned in a matter
and the matter didn’t ever even happen.
And he had it up to here with the laughter.
And he couldn’t brush it off as some banter.
Then he started fantasising ‘bout disaster.
Then he found out who had started up the chatter.
Made a promise he would turn them to a phantom
then he paid a visit to their house.
Padlock mashed up.
Caught them in pyjamas.
Blacked out.
Lashed out.
Story over, man down.
Padlock mashed up.
Caught them in pyjamas.
Blacked out.
Lashed out.
Story of a man down.
Brains out.
The tongue can make you fade, dawg.
The tongue can really bring the rage, dawg.
It can turn you into prey, dawg.
Then to vapours
Watch what you say, dawg.
The tongue cannot be caged, dawg
Don’t let your tongue be a blade, dawg.
Don’t let your tongue separate, dawg.
Watch what you say, dawg.
When the slander starts to spray, step away.
When the slander starts to spray, step away please.
Please refrain from hearsay.
Refrain.
Refrain.
When the slander starts to spray, step away.
When the slander starts to spray, step away please.
Never contribute to hearsay.
No conversations with babblers.
Keep your confidence away from the babblers.
When you catch a rumour,
don’t be spreading it.
Gossip makes best friends separate.
Your words affect your fate.
Watch your mouth for Judgement sake.
Please.
For Judgement sake.
To a wicked mouth, evil is food.
Where there’s fire, don’t throw any wood.
Long story short,
in a nutshell…
life can be saved if you shut up.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Shut up.

Remember…
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
1.
Haughty eyes
2.
A lying tongue
3.
Hands that shed innocent blood
4.
A heart that devises wicked schemes
5.
Feet that are quick to rush into evil
6.
A false witness who pours out lies
7.
A person who stirs up conflict in the community

So watch how you use your tongue.
Understand the power of your tongue.
Man cannot tame the tongue.

Selah.
